Mission Partners
Mission Statement:
The Rocky Mountain Synod Mission Partner Committee exists ---
"to foster mutual partnership with mission-minded congregations and individuals."
Mission Partners is excited to assist in fostering mutual relationships between Mission Partner congregations for the sake of mission and ministry in the Synod. To that end, we have established some activities that Mission Partners (both gifting and receiving congregations) can participate in. See the introductory letter for more information.
If you are interested in becoming a Mission Partner and establishing a relationship with another congregation in our Synod, please contact Pastor Stephanie Quick Espinoza at the synod office.
Just as the body is one and has many menbers, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. (1 Cor 12:12)

Children at Christ the King Lutheran Church (with their families) receive age appropriate Bibles on Reformation Sunday 2010.
Christ the King Lutheran Church is a Mission Development congregation in South Jordan, Utah, in the southwest part of the Salt Lake Valley. Mission Developer, Pastor Scott Stein began mission work in September 2006. The congregation began worship on Palm Sunday, April 1st, 2007, worshipping in theater #14 in a complex of 20 theaters.
The Mission Statement of Christ the King is tied to our identity as Christians. “We are people of God growing in relationship with God and with other people, through worship, service, and outreach.”
After 18 months in the movie theater Christ the King moved into a 1200 sq. ft. storefront on Redwood Road in South Jordan. Three years later they have grown enough that they have moved into a new facility. The new location is also a storefront on Redwood Road, but with much better visibility and it’s larger – 1800 sq. ft.
From the very beginning Christ the King has had strong support from Mission Partner Zion Lutheran Church, who provided a very generous financial gift to help the congregation get started. Zion has a history of starting new congregations around the Salt Lake area.
Currently Christ the King is blessed by support from various Mission Partners in Utah. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Salt Lake City, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Salt Lake City, Mount Tabor Lutheran Church in Salt Lake City, Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Park City, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Logan, and Elim Lutheran Church in Ogden have all lifted up Christ the King in prayers and have provided financial support. In addition, Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton, Florida is a Mission Partner providing financial support to Christ the King, and Pastor Scott preached at Trinity once a year on mission work. There are also individuals who are Mission Partners. Jeff and Val Curry in Wasilla, Alaska, are Mission Partners, as are Pastor Steve and Jennifer Leiser in Salt Lake City.
The people of Christ the King give thanks for the community and communion of people and congregations who have been, and are now, so important to our developing congregation. We thank God as we remember that we are not in this mission alone.
We invite all people to our worship services. Saturday at 5 p.m. is our contemporary service, Evening Praise, and Sunday at 10 a.m. is our traditional service. We are located at 10318 S. Redwood Rd, Suite 16. Pastor Scott can be contacted at 801-618-6246 or pastorscottsju@yahoo.com . Check us out at www.christthekingutah.com .
