Children & Family Ministry
Living the Promise!
Mission:
To support, network and equip every congregation and leader in the Rocky Mountain Synod to keep the Baptismal Promises; by creating a vital church-home partnership and safe, cross-generational culture which nurtures and passes on faith, through all the related milestones during the first 12 years of life.
Vision:
An active, living faith in Jesus Christ in each child in the Rocky Mountain Synod, and in the adults who love and care for them.
Strategies:
Over the past forty years there have been prophetic voices and organizations who have called upon the church to rethink its approach for faith formation, beginning with our children and the families with whom they live. You are invited to join us as we:
- Live into this new vision for faith formation with those ages 0-12
- Discover effective approaches based on solid, theological grounding and research
- Share with one another effective faith practices and resources
- Build networks in response and support for one another in this critical and urgent work of the church and households today

“In baptism, every Christian has enough to study and to practice all his or her life. It is enough to do to believe firmly what Baptism promises and brings—victory over death and the devil, forgiveness of sins, God’s grace, the entire Christ, and the Holy Spirit's gifts.”
Martin Luther in The Large Catechism
