Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver is seeking a Registered Nurse who thrives in unique work that combines faith, compassion, and congregational health and wellness. Augustana Lutheran has a long history of supporting a Faith Community Nurse (FCN) within the congregation.
The FCN reports directly to the Senior Pastor and collaborates with the pastoral and program staff in shared ministry.
The FCN responds to health and wellness concerns of parishioners through visits in homes and health care facilities to evaluate needs, provide support, facilitate the integration of faith and healing, and make referrals as needed.
The FCN coordinates health education programs, support groups, volunteers, and other health-related activities in the congregation.
Minimum qualifications include a RN license, baccalaureate degree in nursing (Master’s preferred) and five years of professional experience. Experience in parish nursing, supervisory experience, and a personal faith are highly desirable. Position is 24-32 hrs/week. $38-$42/hour.
