Immigration Accompaniment Summit Overview

The Rocky Mountain Synod's Immigration Accompaniment Summit took place on May 21–22, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This pre-assembly event gathered rostered and lay leaders to deepen their understanding of immigration challenges and strategize faithful accompaniment of immigrant communities. The summit featured workshops, keynote speaker, Rev. Cristina Rathbone, Episcopal Priest, Journalist, Spiritual Director and Author of 'Asylum Seekers: A Chronicle of Life, Death and Community at the Border. The Summit also featured collaborative sessions focused on policy, advocacy, and community engagement. 

The summit preceded the 2025 Synod Assembly, held from May 22–24 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Albuquerque. The assembly, themed "Dios está Aquí / God is Here," brought together congregational leaders from across the synod for worship, learning, and decision-making.
